Geoff has 40 years’ experience in the New South Wales and Queensland coal industries with a background in open cut and underground operations, new mine development and the preparation of feasibility studies.

Dean Sorely
Dean has some 21 years’ experience in the coal mining industry in both underground and open cut. He has been working in the Australian coal industry since 1993 in various roles and has worked as a consultant for several years.
Introduction to GPPH
GPPH & Associates (GPPH) is a Joint Venture between Pitkin Mining Consultants Pty Limited and PJH Consulting Pty Ltd registered in NSW.
GPPH & Associates ("GPPH") provides mining, geological, product quality, management, software and project management services to the coal and metalliferous mining industry and have undertaken assignments in Australia, China, India, South Africa and USA.
The Principals of GPPH, Peter J Hayes and Geoffrey Pitkin together have over 75 years of mining experience in senior operational and technical roles. PJH consulting has undertaken extensive consulting work to the coal and metalliferous mining industry on technical, commercial and management matters since its establishment in 2002.
Peter has over 37 years experience in the coal and gold mining industry in Australia and has worked at all levels of management from face Deputy to Chief Operating Officer. Peter has previously been Chief Operating officer of Gympie Gold Ltd and Centennial Coal Ltd, General Manager of Coal Operations Australia, General Manager of Southland Coal and Operations Manager of QCT Resources Ltd. He is a director of the Coal Mines Subsidence Board and is a retired director of the Coal Mining Qualifications Board and the Joint Coal Board Health and Safety Trust.
